OUR PROCESS

At Big D Metalworks we take quality very seriously. In order to produce a value driven quality product, Big D Metalworks follows a proven quality control methodology for all design build projects. Our process is as follows:

  1. Review the architect/owner design and finish expectations and submit questions in an RFI format.
  2. Offer suggestions and note any concerns regarding the structural performance, code violations and potential finish characteristics on the design in our project proposal.
  3. Where possible conduct field survey to determine if field conditions match the assumptions of the design team and review the project with craft team to identify quality and productivity improvements along with safety risks.
  4. Submission of initial engineering evaluation and note any conflicts between design material sizes and project layout engineering performance. More on engineering.
  5. Discuss and resolve necessary design modifications.
  6. Prepare approval drawings reflecting the blending of design intent with structural performance.
  7. Produce mockup reflecting the design and finishes shown on the approval drawings.
  8. Produce and install the project in keeping with the approval drawings and approved mockup.
  9. Survey client to ascertain customer satisfaction with the quality and delivery of the product.
  10. Discuss and evaluate any instances where the process failed or schedule was not met; implement corrective action into a methodology for future projects.
